More Self-Promotion (Non-Dr. Fate Related)

Hello everyone,

Just taking some time out from Dr. Fate/DC Comics news to promote my hypnosis services.  I was recently certified in PLR (Past Life Regression) Therapy  by the American Hypnosis Association.  I was able to sudy with world renown, PLR expert Michele Guzy and am now offering in-home (or Skype) PLR sessions.

For anyone that has ever been curious about who you may have been in a past life or if you feel that an issue from a past life might be causing you some discomfort in this lifetime, PLR Therapy is a wonderful experience. Past Life Regression is a valuable tool for therapy whether you are the individual seeking to help yourself, or the professional who is in the business of helping others. Many times the symptoms we feel are said to be "all in your head" by a doctor. If there are no physiological or psychology reasons for the issue, then past-life exploration would be a wonderful way to uncover cell memory of a past trauma. Often a Past Life Regression can reveal the "root cause" of a present symptom, injury or chronic illness. A fear of water could be related to a drowning in a past-life. Birthmarks and deformities could be the physical point of entrance in the body at the time death, such as a stabbing or gun shot wound. For more information log onto

Thanks for taking the time to read and if you or anyone you know may be interested in the service I appreciate any and all referrals.  Also, please note that I am in no way affiliated with DC Comics.

JSA Liberty Files: The Whistling Skull

Next month (essentially next week) DC will be giving us a brand new JSA series in the form of the Elseworlds story of the JSA Liberty Files: The Whistling Skull.  This is something to definitely get excited about.  However, I gotta wonder if this time Dr. Fate will make an appearance in the Liberty Files as he was missing in action from the last L.F. story line.  Anyhow, we'll have to wait and see (and hope) if our favorite Lord of Order will appear in The Whistling Skull.

James Robinson responded to a fan inquiry via twitter about an advance look at Dr. Fate.  This is Mr. Robinson's response to said inquiry:

Sorry  wait for solicitation of E2#11. There will be a beautiful cover featuring Dr. Fate for everyone then.

That's tight folks, Dr. Fate is going to be on the cover of Earth 2 #11!!!  And we'll get to see the solicitation possibly in January.

Since this February is not only Dr. Fate's re-introduction into the DCnU but also Wotan's, I thought I'd put the spot light on Dr. Fate's mortal enemy today.  Wotan was the first evil doer that Fate battles and has since been the Doctor's primary arch-villain.  Although, he has not appeared in the comics in recent years, Wotan has appeared in form of small cameos in the Young Justice cartoons.  Wotan also battled Dr. Fate and Batman in an episode of Batman Brave and the Bold cartoon.

Wotan is an evil sorcerer of great power, who, as Dr. Fate finds out, cannot be killed.  Wotan has plagued not only Kent Nelson, but his wife Inza, over the years.  Both Kent and Inza have had to deal with Wotan in their respective Dr. Fate states.

Here is Wotan taking Inza prisoner and making the good Doctor's life difficult way back in the 40's.

Wotan's Who's Who description.

It's fitting that both Dr. Fate and Wotan be reintroduced together into the DCnU as they were both introduced in the very first Dr. Fate arc in More Fun Comics.  It's nice that James Robinson is giving nods to the original Golden Age stories while putting a modern twist on the stories.

Fun Friday Post

Wow, with puns like these no wonder Nabu started taking over.  Kent Nelson should be punished by the comedy gods for his crimes against humor.

War Comics Month Cross Over

In honor of Veteran's Day, several different Super Hero blogs will be posting war stories to remember those who have served in the armed forces.  I chose to focus on the Untold Origin of the JSA.

This is the story of how the original members of the Justice Society of America were banded together by the Government of the United states of America in order to bring down Hitler and his Third Reich.  Batman, Flash and Green Lantern are the first of the group to get "drafted" into action and set out on a mission to Germany to bring down Hitler.  However, they manage to get captured by a powerful Nazi robot.  Dr. Fate and Hourman come to the rescue and free the captured heroes only to find that Hitler is in possession of the Spear of Destiny with which he summons an army of Valkyries from the sky.  With the heroes overwhelmed by the Valkyrie and Nazi army, Dr. Fate uses his magic to reach out to several other heroes for help.  Dr. Fate's summons includes the most powerful entity/hero in existence; The Spectre, who manages to defeat the entire Nazi fleet almost singlehandedly.  The heroes discover a plot by the Nazi army to assassinate the president of the United States and move the battle to the United States where Superman is able to intercept incoming German missiles.  Inside the Oval Office, the Atom jumps in front of a Valkyrie blast saving the presidents life.  The Jsa is able to drive the Valkyrie and Nazi army back and defeat them.  This is how the greatest superheroes of Earth 2 band together as the JSA.

Dr. Fate Art Commission

This is my awesome Dr. Fate painting I had commissioned by Nik Caesar through Hyaena Art Gallery in Burbank.  I absolutely love it, the Helm looks amazing.  Right now, it is hanging in me and my wife's bedroom, but if I am ever able to open my own Clinical Hypnosis office, I would love to hang it there.  If you are interested in seeing more of Nik's art log onto

Doctor Fate Rumor Mill, Who Will be Designing the New Dr. Fate?

This is a totally unconfirmed rumor, but an artist may have dropped a hint last Friday on twitter that he may be working on the new Dr. Fate redesign for his upcoming appearance in the Earth 2 comics.  The artist is none other that Brett Booth (@demonpuppy on twitter)!  If you are unfamiliar with his work, his most current art can be seen on the pages of DC's Teen Titans and he was the one that did this fantastic redesign of the Golden Age Atom for his return to the pages of DC comics:

(Atom is second from the left, next to Hawkgirl and Flash)

What were the hints he dropped you may ask?  Well in a conversation with other DC fans his name was brought up as a potential artist to redesign Doc Fate, to which he responded with a joking tweet stating "I'm not familiar with that character..." I say joking because in other interactions I and other DC fans have had with Mr. Booth, he is quite aware of Dr. Fate and is in fact a fan of the character.  The second hint was dropped when another fan questioned him about not knowing Doctor Fate to which Mr. Booth again answered with a joking tweet imitating an evil laugh.  Now these may or may not be hints, and I may be making something out of nothing, but if indeed Mr. Booth is the artist in charge of the Dr. Fate redesign I could not be any happier.  Let's cross our fingers and hope that Mr. Booth was indeed hinting at what I and others thought he may be hinting at.

If you'd like to see more of Brett Booth's art check out his blog at

ToF One Year Anniversary!

Today is the Tower of Fate Blog's One Year Anniversary!  A big thanks to everyone who checks the site regularly.  It's been an entire year without a Dr. Fate story in the DC Universe, but to all the Dr. Fate fans I hope I have been able to fill the void somewhat.  Also, keep your heads up because James Robinson (writer for the Earth 2 series) has hinted that the good Doctor will be returning very soon.  With that I'll leave you with some of the more popular posts that most people seem to check out:
